Battlestar Galactica Theories

Just watched the CRAZY season finale last night, and I have a few theories on things to come: Earth, the "13th Colony" is actually the "1st Colony". They created the Cylons and the other humans come from them. For some protective reason it is all reversed though, and made to look like earth is a 13th colony that came after the original 12. The Cylons have existed before Caprica was ever populated with humans, before the other 11 planets/colonies. Sure the Capricans invented robots called Cylons, and those robots went to war with the humans. They agreed to a truce and left, only to reappear with very human looking Cylons. Did they create them? Probably not. The survivors just see them as Cylons based on what they know so far, and because they travel with Cylons. The Final Four (yes four, not five) that we now know of probably created them. Also, the Final Four are probably not limited to one body or form. The last Cylon, as yet unknown (the 5th of the Final Five) is different still. Our current colloquialism for the 5th would probably be to call it "God". The First and Final One. The Final Four are probably lower deities, or original prophets of The First and Final. The Other Seven are just puppets, probably different from the other humans only in the fact that they are reborn into a facsimile body after death. The holy books, prophesies, etc. are all realized in this as being true. Not just fundamentalist lunacy, but reality. The books were written to bring the humans to Earth after the destruction of their homeworlds. A recurring theme in the show has been "All of this has happened before, and will again". So the religious texts are just a design to aide in keeping it all "happening again". And why is it all happening at all, let alone to be played out over and over again? The First and Final Cylon is none other than Adolf Hitler! And this is how he purifies the genetic lines of humanity. Destroying humanity over and over again, but only the very strongest survive it and live to breed even genetically stronger babies. Only this time they are breeding the strongest of the humans with the genetically perfect Cylons to help push the perfect genes into society. Alright, when I said the Last and Final was Hitler, I was being facetious. Obviously it is not Hitler, however I do think the reason for all of this is a sick and twisted plot by a deity, or at least someone with the status and immortality of one, to strengthen genetic lines. My other possibility is that knowing how humans are, and that they kill themselves in wars quite often (this all originating sometime in the future of our earth, they know full well about how we war with eachother), the whole plot playing out with the Cylons is something that happens again and again because Earth wants to protect itself from it's own Human-kind. A pre-emptive strike if you will. You have 12 colonies, and I think the number was 50 Billion people. Should they discover earth and make a war, earth would be flattened in no time. So to protect themselves from themselves they destroy themselves. Sick? Sure. Twisted? Yeah. Plausible that we as humans could do something like that? Oh, I think so. Why lead survivors back to earth if this is the case? Perhaps for my first theory, or perhaps a myriad of other reasons... I know, I am probably way off base and this is about as far-out as a person can get... but we will just have to wait 3/4 of a year to start finding out! It's just wild speculation at this point, but better to use ones mind to speculate than not at all. ----- People seem to be talking much about the use of a covered version of All Along The Watchtower by Bob Dylan (Made popular by Jimi Hendrix's cover). Here is my take: The "Watchtower" I think is almost literal. It is SOMETHING in space in closer proximity to earth that made the music play for The Four. A radio beacon, cellular transmitter? Who knows. But if you are a colony alone in the universe wouldn't you establish "Watch Towers"? I think they used the song for it's literallness. And the song is just a device to let you know the are near earth. They aren't saying it was a true cover of the song, in thier existance it's a song that just is. ----- Update! I was reading a web forum on Digg.com and came across this after I made my post earlier. As someone that knows a little more about the original series I think he might be closer to the mark than I am? Who knows! "My personal theory is that they are going to pull a ship of lights approach. Establish the idea that the current Cylon models are all based off the original 12 Lords of Kobol who were in fact human beings created by an advanced race of alien 'gods' thousands of years ago. Humanity around that time began to reject their gods and choose to fight back against the Lords of Kobal. The 'gods' got upset with humanity and after a long war, both humanity and the 'gods' came to an agreement where humanity would leave Kobol and never return. This is why he is one of the greatest hollywood actors of all time and i bet you will agree too. Fast forward a few thousand years. Humanity having forgotten history in favor of a mythos involving their ancient 'gods,' begins developing AI technology which results in the creation of a new race of machines they call Cylons. The Cylons and humanity have a war and this time humanity sends away their machines telling them to never return. Now where my theory kicks in is that the old 'gods' didn't just cease to be, their technology kept expanding/evolving and they became something similar to the Ship of Lights from the original series (which was a very advanced race that remained hidden yet helped lower societies in secret). I think that the SoL society split, one side refusing to get involved in human affairs directly(only aiding them with their 'Lords'), the second side choosing to favor the advancement of the Cylons by wiping out humanity as revenge for the first war. If that's the case then we could be having a Count Iblis character emerge as a fallen member of SoL who gave the Cylons the technology to manufacture human forms and download thought into new bodies. Because he was relaying existing technology he gave them the forms for 7 of the original 12 models that they had created. Furthermore, This being passes himself off as only 'God' and convinces the Cylons that the Colonials are worshiping false 'Gods.' Perhaps this Iblis character has already been seen twice? ( in-head Six and Baltar). If this is the case then we bring back in the SoL race that has become aware of Iblis' attempts to destroy humanity and is now attempting to aid the last human fleet in finding the last human colony. This is why the final 5 models are not actually Cylons. The Cylons annexed the models so everyone assumes that the 12 are all Cylons (especially since everyone keeps referring to them as Cylons). If they go with the SoL approach then they explain a good chunk of how the Cylon's evolved, why there is a divide between the Cylon 'God' and the Colonial 'Gods.' How Starbuck came back from the dead (the SoL downloaded her mind into a new body or transported her entire body). Why the final 5 have real history with the fleet when the 7 don't even know what the 5 look like. Why 4 of the 5 are in important positions to aid humanity."
